What would you do if you were part of Apple’s management team with the corona virus going on?

Instructions for the final. The final will be an essay based on the information that follows. I have included a brief discussion on cash flow analysis which will help you in your preparation. You may use any material you wish in the preparation. This includes class notes and any sources you wish to use from the internet. You do not need to document these sources with footnotes. When you have completed your paper, email it to me. Please have it to me by may 5th. As soon as I have them, I will begin grading them and post then to the registrar as quickly as possible.

Assume you are part of a management team at Apple and you are preparing a report for the Board of Directors on the state of the company with recommendations on how you think the company should proceed (in regards to COVID-19). In you report address two time periods. One for the period before the crisis and one in the middle of the crisis i.e., today. You are free to make any assumptions you want on such issues as costs, production sources, the state of the competition, the amount of sales, cost of borrowing etc. I will consider all of your assumptions as being correct and you will not be graded on them.

Include in your essay such topics as the strategy of the firm, the economics of the industry, what reports and data you need to make you recommendations and evaluation. Also include in your discussion how the operations, financing and investment areas impact in your evaluations. These areas were including in the class lectures and can be found in you class notes. Because the University is lock down, I do not have access to the notes, so use what you have or get them from your fellow class mates.

Your essay should be four pages in length. Font size 12 point, spaced 1 ½ spaces. You do not need to include charts or graphs. If you do, they will not count as part of your four pages.
