Description: Most artists keep visual diaries, and we will be keeping our own digital, visual diary by collecting and posting images you are seeing around you: colors, lines, people, your environment. You will make your blog in the Blog page that you create in this Module. A short statement to record what it is about the image that has captured your attention must be added to the blog entry. You should be able to relate the images to the class topics. The reasoning for the project is to open your eyes to visual images and to develop understanding of the terms we are learning as they apply to real life.
You can use any source for your images: online, scanned images of your own, or photos you take yourself. The images you post should relate in some way to the unit’s vocabulary and terms. Write a few words about the image in relation to the unit vocabulary (ex: line, shape, contour drawing, figurative sculpture.) I will be checking the blogs and will grade you to let you know how you’re doing.
Requirement: You are to write 5 blog post for each unit. (treat unit 1a and 1b as a single unit) There are 6 units total, meaning you need to write 30 posts. Each post should be approximately 5 sentences (1/3 page) in length. For each post, first choose a term that you are interested, and then choose a picture/image/drawing that is related to the term you choose. Make sure you have the name of the drawing and the name of the author for each image. (But you don’t have to make citation at all, also no outside research is needed. Then write 5 sentences that you comment about the drawing and the term and explain how the drawing and term are related. Therefore, 1 post = 1 term + 1 picture + 5 sentences comment. 5 posts per unit, means choose 5 terms from each unit. Please indicate your post is for which unit.
