You will need to apply one (1) sociological theory (i.e., Functionalism, Feminist theory, Family Systems Theory, etc.) to your topic (i.e., how would the feminist perspective address dating in 2020?). Your textbook and the power points should help you identify the main theoretical perspectives relating to marriage and family, but note that you are not only limited to these. You will also need to apply three (3) sociological concepts to your topic. The first reference of your concept will need to be in bold-type and underlined, so it can be easily identified. For example, if your concept is the double standard, double standard would be written like this for your first reference and future references will be written in a normal font/no bold/underline. You will need to cite a minimum of four (4) outside resources (this can include your textbook, websites, magazine articles, power points, etc.). Include a reference page for all sources cited in APA format (see the Purdue OWL website I have included on our website if you have any questions about APA citation or format). Failure to reference your sources will lower your grade and constitutes plagiarism. Critically analyzing a concept/theory is MORE than just summarizing. Your writing should demonstrate your critical analysis of your theory and concept.
