The Plague is a novel that appeared in 1947, after the end of World War Two. The author of the novel, the French novelist Albert Camus, had been active in the French resistance during the war, and some have thought of the novel’s plague as a metaphor for fascism. But, as you see when you read the novel, the plague is a real plague attacking the Algerian city of Oran and you may, as many readers have been doing recently, see Camus’s novel as particularly relevant, or resonant, for us today as we deal with the Coronavirus plague.
The question that I would like you to address for this research paper is: How does The Plague help to inform our understanding of the Covid-19 epidemic? For more information on The Plague Novel see this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Plague
