India, China, Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Poland, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Egypt, South Africa, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya.

1) Briefly describe the country (e.g., geographic location, population size, political system, language, religion, level of economic development, and any other relevant information) (1 paragraph).

2) Briefly summarize the current demographic situation in this country with respect to the main demographic processes – fertility, mortality, migration – and population structure, citing the appropriate measures (include 2020 population pyramid). Is this country’s population expected to grow or decline? At what rate? Due to which of the main demographic process(es)? (1 paragraph).

3) Identify 3 population challenges that the country is facing right now. Explain their causes and consequences (e.g., for the individuals residing in this country, the society, the region, the world, if applicable). (1 paragraph for each challenge = 3 paragraphs).

4) Use the population projections to describe how the country’s population might look like in 2050 (include the population pyramid in 2050). How is the population expected to change with respect to size and age/sex structure? (1 short paragraph).

5) Identify 3 population challenges that this country is likely to be facing in 2050. Explain their causes and consequences (e.g., for the individuals residing in this country, the society, the society, the region, the world, if applicable). (1 paragraph for each challenge = 3 paragraphs).

6) Given everything you wrote, what policy recommendations can you make to the government of this country? Provide 3 recommendations addressing 3 different current or future population challenges you identified earlier. Explain how your recommendations will help mitigate the current or future population challenges. (1 paragraph).

Use relevant class readings and additional resources (e.g., scientific articles, research reports, newspaper articles; at least 10 total) to describe and explain the population challenges. Cite your sources (use APA style) and include the bibliography at the end of the paper. To make a good impression, pay attention not only to the content, but also to the grammar, vocabulary, style, and formatting of your report. Good luck!

2) Do NOT include an abstract, an introduction (#1 can serve as an introduction) or a conclusion paragraphs (#6 can serve as a conclusion)
3) Use 12pt Time News Roman font, double spaced, 1 inch margins on all sides.
4) Include page numbers.
5) For each graph, include number (e.g., Figure 1), title and source of data.
6) You are required to include 2 population pyramids; you may also include up to 2 additional tables/graphs in any combination (2 graphs or 2 tables or 1 graph and 1 table); please, choose them carefully, make sure they convey an important information and indicate the source.
7) Use in-text citations in APA style if you want to reference certain information.
8) DO NOT use direct quotes. To avoid plagiarism, rephrase the information and use in-text citations to reference the source.
9) DO NOT include any pictures.
10) DO NOT use footnotes or endnotes.
11) DO NOT use hyperlinks except in the list of references where they may be appropriate.
12) Include the alphabetized list of references (use at least 10 sources) at the end of the paper (References). Use APA style to format the references.
13) Follow the page limits requirement (8-10 pages). The title page and the reference page DO NOT count toward the page limit.
