IOR Essay – Interview, Observation and Reflection
1. Interview: Devise 8-10 questions that will be used to interview a subject or their
parent
a. Your subject should be a family or friend and can range from 4-100 years old
b. Interview questions should only be presented to an adult – not children
Because of current events, we can easily conduct interviews via phone or email. You have
most of your questions already. Select who you will interview and send them a request to be
interviewed for your class. You may want to send them a sample question.
2. Observation: Offer a general observation, interpretation of your observation and
conclusion to your observation. What were you expecting to observe, encounter and
did it match with our text?
Because we are practicing social distancing it is not recommended to go outside to a social
or open space. Instead use the videos I have selected and compiled into the assignment
folder. Do not overwhelm yourself with watching the entire video. Find a subject you want
to observe with the video and stick to the age range for the assignment. If you are watching
a 65 yo learn technology or an infant using motor skills, this is your observation.
3. Reflection: Finally, reflect on your experience through this course and how you
approached this assignment. Breakdown your method in paragraph form.
You may include in your reflection the adaptions required from your original thought
process to what has been challenged by the novel coronavirus 19. Offer a beginning, middle
and end to your process to complete your essay.
