Introduction (Including Background/ Literature Review)
-The introduction section has two subsection and altogether should be no less than 4 paragraphs:

-Introducing the topic – generally 1-2 paragraphs
-Statement of the problem (e.g., student success, student satisfaction, student engagement) and implications to the community.
-Description of why the research concepts important.
-Description of why Clark College should be interested in this topic.

-Background/Literature Review – at least 3 paragraphs, but do not exceed 2 pages contextualizing your research concept. This section must define the research concepts so that it becomes apparent in the methods section why the variables have been chosen within the context of summaries of at least three research articles that support why the research is important.

Introduce the literature review with a description of the business problem is important.
Literature Review – be sure to describe the symptoms/implications of the research topic.
Use no fewer than 3 references that are cited at the end in a Works Cited section – so include a works cited page. Make sure that the references used are actual research studies and, where possible, use survey research.

Describe your population and operationalize your research concepts/variables.

Population – Clark College credit students in state-support classes (excludes ABE, corporate education, and continuing education)

Operationalize research concepts – specifically, how are you going to measure your research concepts/variables? What is the research question (s)? What type of data is your variables (nominal, ordinal, interval/ratio)?
If you are using more than one question to operationalize one research concept, then you will need to describe how you will create one research construct: average the responses by individual.
Identify whether your research is quantitative or qualitative research – quantitative here means that we will use parametric and non-parametric statistics and it should require a random/probability sample so that you can generalize your results. What is your sampling frame?
Describe your sampling methodology.
What type of sampling methodology – stratified random sample based on three factors: reflective representation of the college students by academic transfer/professional technical intent, day/evening, and face-to-face/online. Used a cluster sampling technique to select classes to ensure adequate representation of student population by previous three factors.
Ensuring generalizability by selecting a random and large sample size (this answers the why you are sampling this way)
How many classes were selected and rationale for selecting classes: administering the survey in class increases the response rate because they are captive respondents.
What is the time frame you collected the data? (say: Spring quarter 2020 during the second and third week of the quarter.)
-Identify any limitations, if you can anticipate any. Limitations of research have to do with generalizability of the findings. For example, the sampling methods for this research are pretty rigorous, so I don’t think generalizability to Clark College students is an issue, but would be an issue to generalize the research findings students in community colleges in the US. Or, you may not be able to generalize because you may have had limitations in operationalizing your variables–do you think you have the best data to measure your hypothesis/research question in relationship to what you may want to do with it?
The analysis or results section will need to include the following and be at least two paragraphs and one graph:

Describe the results of the statistical analysis.
-Include graph, you may also want to include a table
-Identify the actual value of the test statistic and level of significant (e.g., value of X2 – test statistic and p value – level of significance)

-The conclusion and recommendations for future action must include the following points and be no less than 2 paragraphs:

-Based on your research (both in the introduction and analysis sections), describe your conclusion. You conclusion must be based on what you found from your statistical analysis.
-Identify what your results and conclusions are within the context of the research’s limitations.
-Business research should ALWAYS result in recommendation for action. Based on your analysis/results, what action should be taken?
