Part 1- What is your topic and what made you choose your topic? Overall, why do you feel that your topic is important? If your audience member(s) is/are persuaded, what benefit do you feel will occur from your topic? Whether it is on an individual level, societal level, global level etc…..
Part 2- Find a specific piece of information in your speech (i.e a statistic, quote, research study, interesting fact and so on…) that you feel was particularly effective in your persuasive speech and tell me if it was a Proposition of Fact, Value or Policy? And, WHY? Furthermore, why do you feel that this specific piece of information was particularly effective?
Part 3- Overall, did you feel that you had good Logos (logical reasoning) in your speech? Find a specific piece of information in your speech (i.e a statistic, quote, research study, interesting fact and so on…) that you feel was particularly effective in your persuasive speech And, WHY? Furthermore, why do you feel that this specific piece of information was particularly effective?
(Do make sure that this specific piece of information that you find is different from the specific piece of information that you discussed in PART 1. In other words, find a different specific piece of information than the one you discussed in regards to being a proposition of fact, value or policy)
Part 4- How did you have good Ethos (Credibility) in your speech? What is one component in your speech that you feel gave you good Ethos (presentation of information, good credible resources and so on….) How did you have good Pathos (Emotional Appeal) in your speech? What is one component that you feel gave you good Pathos (passion for your topic, a specific piece of information in your speech and so on…)
(Note: in discussing Pathos, if you decide to discuss a specific piece of information in your speech, please do find a different piece of information from what you discussed in Part 1 and Part 2 of this paper).
Part 5- Write an evaluation of your overall speech delivery. How was your posture? Eye contact? Rate? Volume? Pitch? Speaking in a clear sentence formation? And so on…..What was effective in your speech delivery? What will you practice/improve for the next speech in the future?
