I am needing an outline and powerpoint of a visual presentation for my persuasive speech. I am needing an a layout of what to say as I record myself for this speech presentation.
The goal of the persuasive speech is to influence the attitudes, beliefs, values, and acts of others. Students must cite a minimum of two references for this speech. The persuasive speech will be 3-5 minutes in length, must have an outline, and will require a visual aid. Speeches are graded on content, organization, language use, delivery, and visuals; each speech requires the use of a visual aid. You do not need an audience for your speech. Students will create an outline and then record themselves delivering their speech. I should see your visual aid while you present your speech.
Speeches will be delivered using an extemporaneous outline. The template for this outline can be found in the module folder. Students must use Dr. Sovine’s template by inserting their own content and references. Dr. Sovine will provide a template for the speech assignment, which can be found in the corresponding module folder. Do not deviate away from this speech outline or 10 points may be deducted from your speech grade. Failure to provide an outline will result in a 10 point deduction.
Be sure to use proper grammar, avoid offensive language and using technical terms or jargon.
Use proper gestures, posture, and eye contact as discussed in the text.
Speeches must be submitted as a video link for Dr. Sovine to grade. Outlines should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document attachment. The visual aid does not need to be attached as I should be able to see it in the speech.
Make sure to give strong eye contact with the camera. Reading your whole speech will result in a low grade.
The minimum times listed for speeches above are absolute minimums (i.e. 3-5 minutes). Points are forfeited for insufficient length as follows: 1 to 15 seconds short – minus 5 points. 16 to 30 seconds short – minus an additional 10 points (total 15). 31 to 45 seconds short – minus an additional 15 points (total 30). 46 to 60 seconds short – minus an additional 20 points (total 50). Speeches that are 61 or more seconds short will receive no credit (in other words, you get a grade of “0” for the speech), and it may not be made up.
The maximum times listed for speeches above are absolute. The instructor will stop your speech right at 5 minutes, and if you have not finished a major portion of your speech, such as a main point and/or the conclusion, you will not receive credit for the portion not completed.
The speech assignment requires the use of a presentation aid. Such aids include, but are not limited to, props, video segments (no more than 30 seconds of total speech time), and computer aids (such as Power Point).
Students must be sure to orally acknowledge all sources used for each speech. Oral source citations must be made when delivering the material. Oral citations should match the number of sources listed on the reference page. Students are not required to have citations for this speech but if they choose to use citations, such as quotes, they must cite orally and on the outline.
