Leadership Project : Subject: “SCHOOLS and GUNS”
The learner will select a leadership-related public policy issue that relates to a field of interest and expertise on a topic or a current issue being addressed in the work setting. The paper is to be framed into four distinct (with specified bullet points) sections:
Section I: This section introduces the paper and frames the policy issue.
A). The first section traces the background and historical stages of the issue at the local (state and/or district) and national levels.
B). This section reviews the issue identifies key actors and how they have influenced the development and progress of the issue.
Section II: The second section analyzes the issue using a problem-solving process to include:
A). Assessing the issue with an equity lens
B). Data collection and literature review
C). Consideration of policy options and improvement alternatives
D). Evaluation criteria and logical constructs
Section III: The final section identifies:
A). Possible projected solutions and develops a policy solution for the issue
B). This section identifies the implementation plan for advancing the solution with the identified public- local or national
C) Communication plan for sharing in the public setting
D). The section includes the summary and conclusion
Section IV: The policy issue will be shared with the class through two PowerPoint slides and will be presented at the final class session

The paper is to be 10 pages in length, including the 2 page PowerPoint slides, and have a minimum of 10 sources. One of the sources should be”Leadership and Change in Public Sector Organizations: Beyond Reform”, (2017) by Jams. D Ward (Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group). Resources include peer-reviewed journal articles and news publications and are to include the citing of appropriate resources and adhere to the APA guidelines.
