Purpose
The purpose of this essay is to demonstrate your ability to use the templates in They Say, I Say along with online course materials to summarize and analyze others’ arguments , formulate your own argument, and discuss why the issue matters.
Your Task
Choose one of the sets of essays listed below. Summarize both of the authors’ arguments (“they say”), point out how the authors agree and disagree, and craft your own response to the issues the two essays raise (“I say). Make sure you include a naysayer to show possible objections to your own argument. Finally, address the “so what” factor: why this issue matters.
