This presentation is designed to provide MGT 325 students with the information needed to satisfy their course’s research requirement. This requirement is not extra credit.
This document specifically describes how to sign up for research sessions.
An alternative to completing research sessions (writing up to three 1-page papers on library articles) is described in your course syllabus.
Fully satisfying your research requirement with research participation means participating in 3 hours’ worth of studies
Research studies vary in length in 30-minute increments
Studies may be as short as 30 minutes or as long as 3 hours
You will earn 0.5 research credits for each 30 minutes of research participation
You will not be able to receive more than 30 points grade credit, even if your total participation time is longer than 3 hours
There will be enough research studies to accommodate all students
Barely enough!
New studies will be posted regularly as the term progresses, and you will receive emails as new studies are posted
If all studies are full, keep checking the research participation database
You may sign up for more than one study at a time, but can only register for (or participate in) a given study once
If a study is full, you may show up without registering but the research team reserves the right to turn you away
If you are allowed to participate, please ensure the research team properly assigns your credit.
You may cancel your sign-up but must do so at least 3 hours in advance of when the study is scheduled to begin
If you are absent for two studies, you will not be allowed to sign up for any additional studies and you must complete the paper option to earn these points
