Read the following scenario and write a business message that adheres to all the style and grammar standards we have practiced this semester.
Scenario
You are a consultant for a company of your choice (it can be any company you want; you may choose one you researched this semester if you like). Your company has noticed the many recent scandals involving Uber, particularly the one involving its former CEO, Travis Kalanick, and is considering an entry into the rideshare market to compete with Uber.
Write a short memo (no more than one page) that introduces yourself and the issue you will be writing about, that illustrates your familiarity with Uber’s problems, and describes how you think your company might capitalize on Uber’s dysfunction. End your memo with a final recommendation about whether your company should, in fact, expand into the rideshare industry. Be sure to explain why or why not.
You may use research you performed during the semester, and you may do additional research tonight as you write. However, you may not use direct quotes in the memo; if you use sources, paraphrase so that you are using your own words.
Formatting
Format the message using the standard memo format you have become accustomed to in class. (You may check the sample memo file.) I will take formatting into account when grading this section of the exam.
