For the upcoming papers that are due here are the directions I would like you to follow:
The topic is the Re-Education Camps (Vietnam)
Make sure that you cite four references (one has to be primary) that you get from scholarly sources like JSTOR or from the library site. (you must give the entire web address from those sites after you cite the information). Also I need to quote something from his lecture. ( I will attach when I get it).
This is how you would cite a book: Name of the author (first name first then last name) the title of the book (make sure it is in italics) the place of publication: (colon after that) publisher(comma), date of publication (comma), page numbers (like so, 234-238).
Here is an example of a book that you would cite as a reference: (for example) Norman Podhoretz Why We Were in Vietnam New York: Simon and Schuster 1982, 89-90.
For a journal article that you get out of JSTOR or another scholarly place using academic sources
You would cite it like this: (example) James Carrigan “The Abuses of Power” in, The Journal of American History (Spring, 1999), 201-215.or if you need a primary source they are available in McMahon’s book and you would cite them like so;
“Henry A. Kissinger Reflects on the Nixon Administration’s Dilemma in Vietnam (1969), 1979” In, Robert J. McMahon ed. Major Problems in the History of the Vietnam War Belmont, CA: Wadsworth Cengage Learning, 2008, 358-361.
If you get anything off the internet the complete address of the web site must follow the citation.If you need to cite my lectures do it like this:For my lectures just put the reference as Stephen T. Neese lecture on whatever (Vietnamization, for example), then put on Blackboard, and then the date.
If you cite anything more than once just put the last name and the page numbers like this Podhertz, 34.
Also include a bibliography Last name of the author first, then first name etc, the rest of the citation should look like what you have in the footnote. make sure the references are listed in alphabetical order
