PROJECT – Geology Brochure (Extra Credit) geol 1 zsr

Prepare a one-page brochure that clearly and accurately informs the students about the field of geology. The brochure should include:

An introduction with a clear understanding and definition of geology
A description (not just listing) of at least three fields of geology (e.g. paleontology, geophysics, etc.)
A section describing what geologists do if they pursue the fields mentioned above
A discussion about the need for a solid understanding of other sciences (e.g. chemistry, physics, biology etc.) in geology
List a minimum of one to a maximum of three reference/s that you use in your brochure. Remember all listed references must also be cited WITHIN the text itself.
The brochure shall be just one page; A brochure is expected to be concise, brief, and contains the essential information all in one page. I strongly suggest you follow the examples given in the samples below for style and how to present a brochure in one page.

Write your name at the bottom right of the brochure.
Be creative with your brochure in terms of the design (aesthetics, beauty & artistic taste), section headings, and the quality/kind/number of relevant images or figures you use.
Except for relevant images or figures, do not copy and paste text from your sources, even when you have listed them in your reference section. In certain cases, you may directly quote a sentence, but must put the quotation marks. I will not accept more than three directly quoted sentences in the whole brochure. In short, use as much as possible your own words, simple expressions that you think high school students would understand.
You will create your one-page brochure using these program types only: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.

When ready to submit (remember you should submit only once), click “Submit Assignment” from the top right. The only allowable file submission types are: doc, docx, or pdf. In order to submit your work in pdf, you will need to finish your poster using word, then convert it to pdf, in order to maintain the format.

To upload your file, click “Browse” and add your file. [Note: do NOT use “Dropbox” or “Office 365”, given as options there ]

Check the box which reads “This assignment submission is my own, original work”

Finally, click “Submit Assignment” and you are done. Congratulations!

The moment you clicked “Submit Assignment” your file is automatically uploaded to VERICITE, a software that detects plagiarism (cheating, directly copying from work done by others etc.). Remember that academic dishonesty is a serious academic issue. If verified that you plagiarized, your score for this assignment will be zero.
