A. Cover Letter
After reading the following job description, create a cover letter that is specific to the requirements of the job.
Top Cats Learning Academy is seeking a kind, creative, competent, and energetic early childhood professional for a lead teacher position for their Toddler 2 classroom.
Minimum Educational Requirements: CDS certification and at least one year of experience working with toddlers.

Preferred Educational Requirement: Associates Degree in Early Childhood or a related field or have completed at least two years of college or university course work in a related field.

Responsibilities include the following: (1) ensure the safety of each child through consistent supervision; (2) create a positive, nurturing classroom climate; (3) plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate classroom practices and activities to meet the physical, intellectual, and social/emotional needs of the children; (4) maintain regular observation and evaluation of children’s development and progress; (5) interact with children, their parents and coworkers in a respectful manner; 6) must have effective communication skills—both verbal and written; (7) must work well as part of a team.

Physical requirements: (1) must be able to lift at least 40 pounds; (2) must be able to supervise children outdoors in various weather conditions; (3) consistently able to sit on the floor to work with children and be able to reach children to assist on playground equipment.

*For this assignment you may assume that you have graduated and met the educational requirements. As far as experience, discuss how your experience in various jobs may have prepared you for teaching. For example: Individuals who work in retail have customer service experience that will be applicable in the classroom setting. You don’t have to make up experience, just talk up the experience that you do have just as you will have to do when you apply for your first job in the field of education.

B. Field Trip Ideas and Request Form
Find and list contact information on 5 developmentally appropriate field trip sites. These must be within a 100 mile radius from your site. Include cost (if any) for entry.
Include a Field Trip Permission Form for parents to sign (You may use one that your center uses or find an example online.)
C. Samples of any blank forms
Lesson plans, accident, emergency, food allergies, attendance, behavior modification, parent conference, weekly food menus, etc.
