Precision Writing (Redux)

Hi Folks,

Attached to this post is a document you saw back in Week Eight on precision writing. Since Week Eight was our first Discussion Thread and it received very little participation, I’d like to revisit this rather valuable document.

It was created by a professor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan. While the entire document is rather lengthy (some 17 pages), I encourage you to look it over in its entirety. It contains a wealth of advice on writing in a style that is clear, precise and informative.

For you initial post, however, you may focus on only the first four pages of the document. Consider some of the advice offered in the first four pages and identify a particular item or two that you find particularly useful and/or appropriate to the style of writing you will be doing this week. Present this material to your classmates and explain its relevance to our Major Research Essay assignment.

If you responded to this document back in Week Eight, please consider some other aspects of the document for your response this time around. At 17 pages, there is plenty to consider!
