Philosophy Assignment

So I have an essay questions due for my Philosophy class. Each response must be 250-500. No citation needed. No format necessary.

Question 1. We have covered four ethical theories: two ancient, two modern. Your task for this written response is to compare and contrast the similarities and differences between them, other than being ancient and modern. Your answer should be fourfold. First, explain how virtue ethics is different from the other three theories using details and examples. Second, compare and contrast the similarities and differences between Epicureanism and Stoicism. Third, how are Epicureanism and Stoicism similar, yet different from, Aristotelian ethics. Finally, explain the essential differences between deontology and utilitarianism.

Question 2. Abortion has long been a difficult issue for a multitude of reasons. Some have even argued that it is an essentially irresolvable issue. All of that aside, we can at least frame the issue according to what we’ve covered in class. For this written response, you should be able to explain its difficulties using three frameworks: epistemological, metaphysical, and ethical … thus, your answer should be three-fold. First, what does science have to say about abortion? Second, what aspects of the issue are metaphysical? Third, what aspects are ethical? Explain in with adequate detail how this issue overlaps all three areas of philosophical inquiry.
