Your writing assignment involves you writing (at least) two linked papers. Your first paper will involve you trying to think deeply about a particular topic, and then describing your developed thoughts precisely and in detail. Your second paper will respond to a prompt based on a critical analysis of your first paper. In other words, you will think and then write about a topic, and then you will be given a new prompt asking you to go even deeper into (or think more logically about) that topic.
Specifically, what you will do is:
1. Write a philosophy paper as described in www.madwizard.com/odyssey.htm (Links to an external site.) on a topic from criticalodyssey.htm. (Links to an external site.)
2. Submit your first paper through turnitin.com into the currently open window. (NOT CANVAS!)
3. Check turnitin.com every eight hours until it’s graded. (Email me if it isn’t graded in three days. Text if over six days. You can also email me if your paper is submitted more than a couple of days early.)
4. Once it’s graded, read my comments, and follow the instructions in commentanalysis.htm to fix any problems in your thinking.
5. Once you know where you went wrong, if you did, read http://madwizard.com/next.htm (Links to an external site.) and “ZNS” (or “Z-something”) comment.
6. Write a whole new paper that addresses the ZNS prompt and which doesn’t repeat any mistakes from your first paper.
7. Submit your second paper through turnitin.com before the next deadline.
8. Check turnitin.com every eight hours until it’s graded. (Email me if it isn’t graded in three days. Text if over six days.)
9. If you like the grades you got, you’re done.
10. If want to improve a bad grade, do the “ZOS” prompt (without repeating previous mistakes), or email me for a new topic.
11. Repeat as needed until final deadline, the “no papers accepted after” date.
To write your first paper, set out arguments on both sides of an issue from www.madwizard.com/introodyssey.htm, and give your own logical analysis of those arguments according to the instructions in www.madwizard.com/odyssey.htm
