This also means that you are expected to seek additional information about the case from other sources. Doing a good and in-depth ‘situational analysis’ is an important part of forming a moral opinion.
Ethical theories must be used to validate your moral statements without necessarily mentioning them in your paper. E.g. when you can claim ” xxx is a good practice because it benefits almost all the stakeholders involved even though others may argue it is morally unacceptable because it sacrifices the well-being of a small minority group to meet its ends”. This shows to me that you have looked at it both from a utilitarian and from a deontological perspective without necessarily mentioning these philosophical orientations. It is a better way of writing an opinion piece for a broader audience that may not be familiar with all this philosophical jargon.
