This assignment requires you to produce three items of work ( Bungalow only – exclude Garage)
(1) Manually (hand Written)take -off quantities, and provide NRM2 descriptions for Kentmere Bungalow – Finishings (plastering, plasterboard, skirtings, painting & decorating, floor finishes etc). Take a copy of your works as proof of submission
(2) Produce an Excel Spreadsheet in the form of ‘Taking-Off’ paper. From your manual take-off, transfer the dimensions, total quantities and descriptions for the wall finishings only ( taken from task 1)
(3) Produce a plaster and plasterboard specification – Material definitions, workmanship practice and any testing requirements (word processed document)

• Excel Spread for wall finishings
• Plaster and Plasterboard specification ( Work Section Preamble)
Assignment Submission
This is not an electronic submission
Submit your work to the Main Reception desk on Level 5, Arundel Gate Entrance location.
Submit as a bound copy with a front cover/title page, abstract, contents page, reference/bibliography and Appendices sections if required ( such as source/ selected copies of any plastering technical guidelines)
You should submit your MS word & Excel compatible file to the TurnItIn point on blackboard before the deadline stated in assignment diary.
Word Count
The word count for this assignment is in accordance with the requirements of the take-off, however your plastering/plasterboard specification should be no more than 2000 words. (this excludes the section one – the manual take-off and section two the Excel Spreadsheet)

Feedback for the assessment will be in the following format:
• Guidance and advice in class
• A generic powerpoint feedback entered onto Blackboard and delivered as a ‘Feed-Back’ lecture, which will provide details of overall performance, common issues etc.
• Individual feedback in the form of annotations on scripts and or feedback rubric
Guidance
It is important to reiterate the key point of guidance given in the first paragraph; You should attend class each block week as further guidance on the assignment will be given verbally on an ongoing basis.
Key items to highlight for this assessment are that:
• Place equal effort in the research, thought and drafting for each part.
• For the take-off, please ensure you vertically line your document in accordance with take-off (dimension paper)
• Materials that are not correctly referenced to APA System format may not be marked
• Submit as three separate attached files to blackboard.

EXCEL SPREADSHEET The appropriate Excel Spreadsheet software
PLASTERING SPECIFICATION Key resources for this task will be the ‘construction information service’, ( CIS) library search and databases or access the National Building Specification. Also ‘Google’ further technical information if required.
