Write an essay in response to the one of the topics below, using your own ideas, others’ opinions, analysis techniques, and the knowledge you now have a result of doing research. You must explain why this issue is currently significant, and you should trace the causes and history of the issue. You may also connect this issue to others issues. You must use research! All outside sources must be credited with in-text citations and Works Cited page, which will not count toward the length requirement.

Some specifics for writing this essay are:

NO dictionary definitions allowed and NO encyclopedia entries (like Wikipedia, et al).
Use the texts from class, our course website, Purdue’s OWL, and any outside research as reference materials. But remember: I want to know what you think, not what someone else thinks.
Direct quotations and paraphrases must be used in the proper format.
You may use as many source as you see fit (but be careful!).
