An area of concern when establishing a digital evidence area of a crime lab is to ensure that the networks are secure, specifically the data network storage area, where the data derived from digital evidence forensics is stored. The obstacles present during storage add complexity to the other areas under consideration during this process. Examination of crime labs that secure digital evidence certifications clearly prove that there are important information security steps to ensure that the digital evidence is not compromised. The protection of networks and digital evidence remains a high concern. Establishing a security policy for protecting data should be undertaken. These steps should be formalized and outlined in a systematic security plan.

For this activity, you will assume the role of an ISO hired to provide an assessment of what steps should be taken to ensure the security of networks and data, which contains forensic analysis of digital evidence in a crime lab. You will write a short paper of two to three pages. This report should outline the steps and identify how a secure network can be obtained. Include at least three quality references.
