Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this module the successful student will be able to:
1. Use communication strategies that address the individuals’ concerns from an ethical, legal, and cultural perspective.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of the legal/ethical and cultural parameters in psychotherapy.
3. Analyze ethical problems based on the ethics of the profession and population needs.
4. Implement strategies for effective termination of therapeutic relationships.
Module 4: Culture Assignment
NOTE:
• Review Purnell chapters 6-24 and pages 44–479.
• Each student will post an important aspect of one culture as related to providing therapy.
• This should be a discussion and not a copy and paste.
• Must be at least 300-500 words.
• One culture per student (no duplication). You will get the most out of this activity if you pick a culture you are not familiar. (my culture noted above)
• Cite reference with page numbers.
• If you cannot find enough information in Purnell, use an evidence-based journal article to provide additional information (but will need to use Purnell as the one source)
