The Mid Term assignment will consist of an Opinion Brief that will allow students to delve deep into the workings of the knowledge economy, and why businesses have to redefine itself in these unprecedented times.
• The assessment is individually graded
• The assessment is a written assignment
• All standard academic protocols and qualitative measures must be followed
• The student must build a coherent discussion or argument in an essay format, analyzing theories and models. Case studies may be referred to when providing examples. The structure of each response should include an Introduction, a Body of Analysis, and a Conclusion
• Students must write in complete sentences and develop paragraphs. No bullet points are allowed
• QUESTION: The current and ongoing (Covid-19) pandemic has disrupted our lives and our daily activities. From massive layoffs, recessionary tendencies, to some business sectors almost coming to a halt – are some of the visible consequences of the pandemic. However, such disruptive times also allow us to innovate, and frees up innovative potentials to alter and radically change our lives. In this light, argue how and why has the world of business needed to adapt in the knowledge age. Use real case studies and examples to justify your answer. In arguing the above, pay attention and focus on the following points below:
o You can take up any sector (Business) for analysis.
o Why is knowledge important in todays business? Compare it with the previous industrial age.
o How does knowledge create value for enterprises?
o Is knowledge management a reality?
o Why do we see a shift from the industrial age to the knowledge age?
o Is technology the key solution?

o Apply the principles and theories of knowledge management
