Introduction to Applied Humanities (GE tier two humanities)

second paper should respond to two or more required readings from units 8-13 and will be due during the final week. Connecting the readings to a current event or issue that you have read about in the news is one suggested approach to constructing a paper topic, but you may formulate your critical response based on any approach that you wish. The papers should each be approximately 1500 words (between a minimum of 1250 words up to a maximum of 1750 words, or about 5-7 pages), and formatted in a standard 12-point font like Times New Roman, double spaced, with one-inch margins and page numbers. You may incorporate outside readings, though it is not required, and all of your references, including required readings that you are drawing on, should be properly cited in-text and in a concluding bibliography. You may use any standard citation formatting system, but Chicago author-date style is suggested. Papers will be graded according to the rubric below [see“Grading Rubrics”]. No late submissions will be accepted, however you will have the opportunity to revise and resubmit each of the two papers within one week of receiving your initial grade back. Your new score will completely replace your original score, if you choose to take advantage of this option.
