In your essay, recommend one colony for each man that offers the best potential for success and freedom (as these men would define them) and one specific colony that they should avoid. The date is important because it allows you to look at the Foner chapters and understand exactly what is going on at the time you are making the recommendations. Information and events after 1750 cannot be used as evidence to make your recommendations-this is part of logical historical thinking.
The essay should be at least five paragraphs and recommend one desirable and one undesirable colony for each of the men. These should be different colonies as the two men have different backgrounds. Your essay should carefully explain your recommendations using information taken from materials in this module. The more specific the recommendations and evidence the better. Be sure to include specific evidence or examples to support your recommendations.
Specific information or ideas taken from the text or other materials should be footnoted using the Chicago Manual of Style footnote format. The first line of footnotes are indented and the number in superscript. Citations for ppt lectures include presentation file name and slide number in your footnote.

Citations for the author videos should include the last name of the author, (Foner) video title, time code.
