here is my assignment requirement ( CRE101) and I attached an example
At the bottom of this page is a link to an example of a student essay on Implicit Bias. It is not a perfect essay; however, it does give you an idea of the structure and format your essay should have. Study it, looking for these components, which your essay must have, too:
Note that the first paragraph ends with the controversial thesis statement (overall point) the writer tries to prove is true in the rest of the essay.
Each body paragraph after that starts with a topic sentence that relates to the thesis statement. This topic sentence is referred to as a subclaim. It is a point that paragraph will prove or explain.
Each paragraph contains evidence in the form of a fact, example, statistic, testimony, or analogy. Evidence must be relevant, sufficient, and accurate. One example or one testimony means little without statistics that corroborate the experience. One study is not sufficient if other similar studies do not corroborate the findings that one study. Old studies about race may not be relevant in today’s society. Facts taken from blogs, biased sites that push fake news or even outdated sources might not be accurate.
The writer includes the credentials (degree, career, or achievements )of each writer she took evidence from and each person who provides testimony or did research.
Only 15% or less of the essay is quotes. These words are copied exactly as they were written in the article they were taken from, and they are placed inside quotation marks to show the reader they were copied. (Not doing this is plagiarism-cheating.)
All evidence taken from any source other than the writer’s own brain has either an attribution to introduce it, or an MLA intent citation with the author’s last name inside parentheses after it, or both.
Examples:
Attribution-:According to Taneshi Coates, political columnist for the Atlantic magazine and author of several books on race relations, “….”. OR
MLA in-text citation :African American parents often warn their children to avoid moving quickly around police officers (Coates).
No quotation marks are included above because the exact words from the magazine article were not copied. The last name of the author is provided, however, to indicate that the idea came from Coates, not the student essay writer. This is necessary when there is no attribution indicating who the author of an article or other source was.
After most piecesof evidence, the student writer should provide commentary explains why that evidence matters. The commentary can explain what effects a biased action described has, why a statistic is relevant or shocking, or anything else that makes the evidence stronger or more easily understood.
The essay ends with a concluding paragragh that summarizes key points made in the essay. Finally, it finishes off with a recommendation for change, a call for the reader to act, a warning , or a powerful quote that restates the main idea of the essay.
A Work Cited page must be included.
