Each student is required to select and read 8 scholarly sources published within the last 10 years from scholarly sources regarding one’s research topic. The student must complete an annotated bibliography that includes these 8 sources. The annotated bibliography must include the reference for the source written in APA style followed by an indented paragraph summary of each source. The references should be listed in alphabetical order and the summary must include a few sentences about the article content and about how the article is useful to the student’s presentation. That is, how will the information from the article be useful to support the research topic of the student? The summary paragraphs should be double spaced and approximately 250-350 words in length. I have all 8 references in alphabetical order for you and I have all the PDF files of the references that I will also send you. This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome References: This includes references for all 8 sources using correct APA style. 3.0 pts This section includes a complete list of the 8 sources and uses APA style correctly and contains sources that are published in the last 10 years and they are effective, relevant sources for the presentation. 2.0 pts This section includes an incomplete list of sources or an ineffective list of sources and/or it contains errors in APA style and/or contains some sources that are not published in the last 10 years. 1.0 pts This section contains less than 8 sources and/or sources that are irrelevant and/or APA is not correct or not followed and/or contains a substantial amount of sources that are not published in the last 10 years. 0.0 pts This section is not included and/or contains substantial errors in APA style and/or the sources are irrelevant to the research topic and/or sources are not published in the last 10 years. 3.0 pts This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome Article Summary This includes a written summary of the article including relevancy to topic, grammar, clarity of writing, use of language (i.e. students should write in a professional voice), and general errors including typographical errors. 3.0 pts The summary is focused throughout and the summary is clearly related to the research topic. There is a good organizational structure. There are no or extremely few mechanical and grammatical errors. Summary follows the appropriate APA format. 2.0 pts Generally, the summary is focused and ideas are clear and well organized. There are very few mechanical and grammatical errors and they do not detract from the author’s ideas. 1.0 pts There are some problems with the summary and relevancy to the research topic and/or there are some problems with writing style, organization, and clarity. Problems with grammar and mechanics are evident throughout and/or the summary is not well organized. 0.0 pts There are substantial errors in the summary. 3.0 pts Total Points: 6.0
