“How Not To Die” book report

This paper will be based off of 5 chapters of Dr. Gregors “How Not To Die” book as
chosen by the student. This report will be written in Times new roman, 10 point font, double
spaced, and be 1000 words at a minimum.
This assignment is not a summary of what was said. I want a critical analysis of the
topics discussed. I want you to assess what the author says, do you agree/disagree? (there
should be a reason, not just feelings)
● Overview of the chapters chosen (5 points)

○ What conclusions do each chapter bring to the table?

○ How strong do you think the evidence is?
○ Is the evidence provided strong enough to draw the conclusions the author is

○ How does this evidence compare to dietary recommendations made by varying
U.S organizations (pick any)(this will take some effort/digging)

○ Will you implement anything learned? (why/why not)
○ If you were to implement any of these dietary strategies, how would you?
○ How would you decipher this information, for someone less interested in the topic
(who wouldn’t read the book)

To obtain maximum points each section should be addressed in detail. While this paper is
largely an “opinion piece” I am trying to encourage you to have a reason to think and say what
you say. Everything should be supported by scientific evidence. Feeling should guide you to find
evidence to support/refute what you feel. Do not look to confirm what you think, look to see what
the evidence says. Each section should be looked at and addressed in a critical fashion, not just
a summary of what was said.
What I have provided above is not a “Guide”. This paper is yours to take where you want.
