Greek Mythology Research Paper

One 2500 word paper.

Choose one of the following titles and develop your own thesis based on it. Papers must be 2500 words typed in 12 point font, double sided with no less than 1.5 spacing and 1 inch borders. Papers must be accompanied by a bibliography and foot notes (not part of the paper word count). Please also include a word count on your paper and your full name on the header of each page. Pages should be numbered.

Please use clear and consistent citations and aim to consult 15-20 sources (primary texts, general guides/handbooks, books and articles). A quick citation guide can be found here:

Choose from one of the following titles:

1. With reference to ancient texts and/or other evidence describe how the afterlife was perceived in the ancient Greek world.

2. Discuss the fusion of myth and politics in ancient Greek literature/drama.

3.Discuss the way in which Greek mythic material may have been reflecting personal and/or social trauma.

4. Using specific examples, discuss the theme of gender conflict found in Greek mythology/literature.

5. Using textual and/or material examples describe how Athens used mythological content for the purpose of civic identity.
