Funds of Knowledge Interview

Interview 2 bilingual family that can speak 2 languages. Explain the purpose of Funds of Knowledge and it’s relation to language development. The interview responses will be explained in 4-5 pages in APA format.

The paper will include:
Introduction – background and information about my family members

Setting – how the interview started, how the setting was relevant, and any information that stands out

Interview / Responses – see the Interview/Responses – see the questions below. Not all of the questions need to be asked. Ask enough questions to get depth to your paper. Include responses with an explanation in the body of the paper. Make connections from the course (textbook, articles, etc.).

· Findings – What did the findings tell you about the family? These are questions to guide in the findings:

1) How are the Funds of Knowledge related to the cultural values of the family?

2) How is language involved in the component of the family?

3) What social, cognitive, and cultural funds of knowledge exist in the home?

4) What funds of knowledge are shared with the children and how does that

knowledge relate to concepts and academic learning?

In blackboard, use the articles or any other research that applies to your findings. Dissertations about funds of knowledge are also posted in blackboard.

· Reflection- What did you learn from this assignment? What did this teach you about English learners? About culture? About language development? Include any other learning that was experienced.

· Appendix- Include the questions that were asked

· References in APA- cite the interview as personal communication
