The United States is known to be a great nation. Some historians have called it a wonderful, but imperfect idea, unlike almost anything in the history of the world. Many Americans today say that the country is still evolving, and our best days are yet to come. What do we need to do to get there? What needs to be different? Think about all that we have read, analyzed, and discussed this semester and respond to the following prompt:
Imagine a country. Imagine our country. Imagine the United States in 10 years. What does a better America look like? What is different? Use three of this semester’s readings to answer this question. Focus your essay on any of the following topics or a mixture of some or all the topics: identity, race, class, gender, body image, athletics, and education.
