This is a thesis paper but it is based on literature research from different articles I’ve already compiled. It aims to discuss the different methods of detection of super oxide and singlet oxygen species while also giving a thorough discussion of why that detection is important relating to photodynamic therapy. For the 6 pages I’m requesting, I’m requesting help with the RESULTS/DISCUSSION and the EXPERIMENTAL SECTION.
The RESULTS/DISCUSSION would compose of the different methods that are available (fluorescence, probes, LS MS), which are all laid out in the papers. It would also discuss the importance of being able to detect singlet oxygen and superoxide, for example for photodynamic dosimetry and to reveal the logic behind biological damage. I would like a table that lays out the different methods, separates them from direct or indirect and displays their advantages and limitations (an example of this table is found in the article titled Singlet Oxygen Detection During Photosensitization)
The EXPERIMENTAL SECTION should include a brief description of the procedures of the different methods, including important instruments they used, name of important reagents or kits, probes, etc. This is more like the procedure section, no analysis required, but making sure NOT to just restate what the paper is saying.
The RESULTS/DISCUSSION should take up 5-6 pages while the EXPERIMENTAL SECTION can take up around 2-3, with definitely more focus on results/discussion
The main purpose of this paper is to explore and discuss the different methods of detection of superoxide and singlet oxygen from photodynamic therapy, and why this is important for future use of photodynamic therapy (dosimetry) and how it helps us understand biological damage and light-induced death. I will provide all the references and also a rough outline and the intro that I’ve been working on, as well as the powerpoint presentation that I’m working on to go along with it.
