Discussion No. 2.

The discussion concerns Marshall Fisher’s definitions of two alterative operating systems as described in his article “What is the right supply chain for your products?” (Harvard Business Review, March-April 1997). You are not required to read the article for the assignment, but it is helpful to enhance your understanding of matching of processes with product types. Although it focuses on tangible products and some of the examples are dated, it remains an important conceptual article.
Your assignment is as follows. Provide recent examples of products and services that would be best created using responsive and cost efficient operating systems. They should not include examples mentioned in the Fisher article or in class. Base your answers on your consumer experiences, your work background, or research that you perform. In your post, provide four examples in total, as shown in the table below:
