Please pay close attention to all of the requirements and directions for this week’s discussion board to receive full credit.

First, read Susan Glaspell’s Trifles on page 816. On the Discussions forum, answer question #5 on page 827. Your response must be no less than eight (8) full sentences.

Next, read the section on Cultural Analysis on page 901-902. Apply this type of literary analysis to Trifles. How does this play read through a Cultural Analysis lens? How does the setting, time period, and cultural standards of the time impact the play? How would it read in a contemporary setting? Your response must be no less than eight (8) full sentences.

Finally, respond to at least two of your classmate’s ideas about both of the subjects listed above. Are their criticisms and observations valid? Find some criticisms you disagree with, or some you think could be edited in a way alternative to what was suggested and elaborate on your perspective (kindly and tastefully, of course). Use a minimum of six sentences in your responses, citing textual evidence or the student paper as needed.
