So why do Christians believe Jesus was more than just a man; and why do Christians believe the teachings of Jesus are divine? The answer is the resurrection. If Jesus really did rise from the dead, then it proves he was more than just a man: he was the Son of God. And if Jesus was the Son of God, then his teachings are more than just moral, they are divine and demand our attention. In other words, the Christian worldview hinges on whether the resurrection really happened.
