Windows Deployment Services (WDS) Planning and Deployment:

Discuss the challenges related to the planning and deployment of Windows Deployment Services (WDS). Include in your discussion the following topics;

The number of Windows Deployment Services instances required
Full Windows Deployment Services or the Transport Server Role
Server resource requirements
The file share fault-tolerance and consistency mechanism

Preparing the WDS Server:

You are an administrator who must deploy Windows to 300 clients by using Windows Server 2012 R2 with Windows Deployment Services. Therefore, you decide to create a master image. What would you need and how would you prepare the master image? After the image is created, what steps would you use to prepare the WDS server to use the image?

Deploying Multiple Computers:

You are an administrator responsible for deploying 340 clients running Windows 8.1. These clients contain a mix of mobile computers and desktop computers, 32-bit computers and 64-bit computers. They will be distributed throughout a campus of three buildings and five subnets. Each subnet starts from a single DHCP server located on the server subnet. You have a newly installed WDS server (located on the server subnet) used to deploy Windows. You also have several older computers that do not support PXE. How many images do you need to deploy Windows to these clients and why do you need each of these images?

Selecting Server Imaging Types:

An image is a single file or other storage device that contains the complete contents and structures of a disk or other data storage device used with computers and other computing devices.

When selecting the image type, you need to understand the following:

Thin, thick, and hybrid images
Sector-based and file-based formats
Image type (boot, install, capture, or discover)
Image format (VHD or WIM)
Choose two of the above image types and explain in detail their purpose. Include pros and cons in your discussion.
