Criticizing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

1. On the idea and the topic:
    You need to come up with your own specific idea from the course themes for the final
   research paper;
    You can either add on the mid-term research paper or you can write completely new
   research paper;
    Make sure the topic and research question is as specific as possible; this is going to help
   you to focus on one to three aspects and not to broad spectrum of issues which can water
   down your arguments.
2. On the structure:
    The research paper should have main title;
    The research paper should have sub-titles, which will denote the boundaries between the
   chapters;
    You are expected to develop four to five chapters:
3. Introduction (this is where you usually state your research question and do overview
   of the problem you will be discussing);
4. Main or central chapter (where the main line of argumentation is included – you might
   include here additional chapter if you deem necessary);
5. Conclusion;
6. Bibliography.
7. Technical requirements for the final research paper
    Your research paper must have proper citations and references (you can use any style
   you prefer) from where you draw your ideas, opinions, and arguments. In opposite, if
   you do not do that you might be found to be plagiarizing;
    Maximum number of pages for the final is 9 to 10 including the bibliography (one
   page);
    For bibliography you can use five sources from the course readings and five outside
   sources. In total ten sources.
    You should submit your final research paper in Google Docs.
   (Please make sure you are not using Arabic support because it will be impossible
   to write comments on your paper. When submitting the final paper please make
   sure you’ll give me permission to edit and that all changes be saved.)
8. Evaluation criteria
    Clarity of the idea/argument;
    Innovativeness of the approach;

 Clear structure;
 Consistent and well developed argument;
 Accurate and clear sentences;
 Linkages between various concepts and/or ideas.
 Use of the internal sources and their correct application.
 Relevance of the outside sources.
