What is your opinion on the “cash bail system” and “bail bonds.” When people have to put up cash for bail but they can’t afford it they go to a bail bondsman to make a deposit and pay a percentage of the total bail set in order to be set free. Or, when people can’t get a bail bond or even come up with the cash they have to await trail in jail whether they are guilty or not. We also learn about pre-trial services in the VICE video where in DC many people are helped stay out of jail while they await trial.
