COVID-19

Research paper on COVID-19: what it is, where did it begin, how long did it take to get to the USA/NYS/Nassau County/NYC, and how we as a county, city, state and nation have been dealing with it (pros and cons). You will utilize what we learned throughout the semester as well as current research to do this assignment. It should be a MINIMUM 5 pages typed (NOT including cover page and reference page), double spaced, APA style. There is NO maximum amount of pages – go as long as you want. BUT NO LESS THAN 5 FULL pages double spaced. PLUS cover page and reference page.

What to include:
1) Analyze one past pandemic of your choice (Spanish flu 1918, Ebola, SARS, etc. – just ONE) and discuss what it was, when & where did it occur, and how did we handle it (as a city, state, county and/or nation. *This should be at least 1 full page.
2) Introduction to COVID-19 – what is it, what do we know about it so far? *This should be at least ½ page
3) What primary, secondary and tertiary preventions are in place (or should be in place that isn’t) to help prevent getting COVID-19. *This should be at least 1 full page
4) How did we (as a nation/USA, state/NYS, county/Nassau, and city/NYC) deal/handle this pandemic? How did the Nassau County executive, Mayor of NYC, Governor of NYS and the President of the USA deal with it? What were their strengths and weaknesses? In other words, what were the strengths and weaknesses to our response at each level? *This should be at least 1 ½ pages
5) Where are we now and where do we go from here? As future PHNs, what have we learned from this pandemic? How do we take what we learned to prevent (or minimize the impact) of future pandemics? *This should be at least 1 full page

Remember that authors do not necessarily have to be people. They can be organizations, such as the WHO (World Health Organization) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), sites I would EXPECT you to use for this paper (HINT, HINT – I just gave you 2 of your minimum 3 references).
Every reference on your reference page should have at least 1 cite within the body of your paper AND every cite in your paper should have a corresponding reference site on the reference page.
