Covid 19

***MY TOPIC IS I would like to do covid-19 as the topic on my research paper. This Topic identifies with my major since I might want to be a cop or some sort in that division later on. I’ll clarify Covid-19 and how it’s affecting police officers today, and how officers are coming down with the covid-19 and how there’s still officers out there wanting to help the people in need. Also bring into how police offices are ordered to lay low on simple crimes to avoid the virus and how this affects crime rate around our nation. **

I cannot determine the quality of your sources and whether or not they are peer-reviewed because you gave me no links and almost no publication information. The content seems on track, but you might want to find some scientific studies that detail the problem since this is a science class. You can always use past epidemics/pandemics for that evidence.”

You will be required to give a detailed explanation of the main scientific ideas involved with the topic, as well as a discussion of any controversies that exist.

Once you have outlined the basics you must find at least 4 scientific research studies related to your topic that have been released in the last 10 years. You will be required to describe the experiment, including any key results and the conclusion, and how it adds to the understanding of your topic. The purpose of this portion is for you to inform the audience on the most up to date research related to your topic.

You may also consider adding expert opinion to the discussion of your topic. Experts in the field can often give some clarification on the larger ideas related to a scientific topic. This is where editorial articles or interviews with scientific experts can aid you in the discussion of your topic.

You will also be required to relate the topic to your major. This relationship should be considered carefully before you choose your topic. You should be able to explain how the scientific information relates to your field and how you can use that information in your projected career. It isn’t hard to make these connections, but if you are having trouble finding scientific topics related to your major, please see me during office hours.

You will be required to find 5-9 sources on your topic. You are required to ONLY use peer-reviewed sources for the scientific content in this paper. Your best sources for scientific research are going to be peer-reviewed scientific journals. Do NOT use information from blog posts or heavily biased news agencies. There are several databases on the library website to use for research, and many of them filter for peer-reviewed publications. You may use other credible sources for discussion and commentary on your topic, but the sources must be of good quality. Use our discussion of identifying good-lay articles from earlier in the term to guide you.

The paper must be a minimum of 1100 words and no more than 1800 words (roughly 4-7 pages) double-spaced, not including your title or reference page. Standard 12-point fonts and 1-inch margins are required. Please include your name and include a title to your paper. It should also be written with stylistically correct grammar and punctuation. Be sure to reference all sources of information using APA style (http://lynn-library.libguides.com/apa) both in-text with parenthetical citations and with a reference page at the end. Submit your final paper as a Word document or PDF, and title it as per the following example: DSL200_paper_LastName.docx.

The essay will be graded with the Dialogues of Learning Written Communication Rubric. As such, it is expected that the student meet all the requirements of the grading rubric to achieve full points in each section, so please be sure to carefully review the grading rubric.
