Here my experience that will help you to respond on the question and compare with training methods outline in the pdf that I attached : I worked as an accountant for a mid-size oil and gas company. It was a small company so my supervisor trained me on how to do the work. She taught how to use QuickBooks (accounting software) how to entered invoices and paid clients. How to receive payment from customer. Emails clients to know check the payment status. And do journals entries to tracks what we had in company. But I felt she didn’t know her work because sometime would get stuck or have an error she wouldn’t know how to fix it so we had to call every time the customer service to help us fix the error. She didn’t train me well because I have to teach my self some other stuff and get used to the software. it took like a month to learn the system, every other time I had to ask her. Or when I’m stuck by creating invoices or doing the journal entries for the transaction. I think the method for this is one it’s on-the-job training (P 253) The second experience: It was a small non-profit organization with 3 people. CEO, administration that answered call, do marketing and post online to promote the organization and an accountant (which was me) I had to teach my self to do everything by watching videos and read PowerPoint slide. It took times but I learned it. we were behind in accounting because it took me a while to understand the software and no one else knew how to do the work. I think the method for this one is
