Collective Clinical Experience
Group Case Study
Instructions
Develop a case study based on your collective clinical experience by writing a brief (one page) description of a patient. After you have developed the details of your fictional patient, go back to your textbook readings in Butts & Rich, and select a nurse theorist with whom your group resonates. Complete the following:
Develop a theory-specific nursing process chart or concept map that details how your nurse theorist would approach the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, revision). Use language specific to your nursing theorist. Your nursing process chart should demonstrate a grasp of the theorist’s worldview, propositions, and terminology.
Develop a data collection form based on your nursing theorist’s worldview, propositions, and/or terminology that can be used to complete a thorough history and physical for your case study patient.
Develop a one to two paragraph explanation of how the theorist’s perspectives influenced the creation of your data collection form.
Fill out your data collection form based on your case study. If additional information is needed and not provided in your scenario, pose the additional questions that might be asked based on the theorist’s perspective.
Develop a theory-specific care plan for your case study patient that includes 2 priority nursing diagnoses, with goals or expected outcomes, and how the outcomes will be evaluated.
Your group submission will be a MS Word document with the following elements:
Title page
1 Page (maximum) overview and description of your case study patient.
1-2 page nursing process chart or nursing process concept map using your nurse theorist’s perspective and language
1-2 page completed history and physical data collection form using your nurse theorist’s perspective and language
1-2 paragraph explanation of theorist’s influence on data collection form
