Climate Apartheid: How Climate Change Differently Impacts the Black Working Class

Taking into consideration the questions of “climate apartheid,” should we conclude that the effects of the social construction of race and racism are as strong as ever, that they are gone or fast on their way out—or does it depend on where and who you are?

How does climate change differentially impact poor people—including and especially poor people of color—in our world? What will happen if we don’t change paths? How does it impact questions of social justice? What if this question remains unaddressed—and the world continues to discuss the question of climate change apart from issues of race and class?

Final paper should be 8-10 pages long, 12” font, 1” margins, plus bibliography/works cited.

• provide academically discursive arguments and examples from the lived reality (i.e. everyday life) to support your thesis statement.
