In addition to an introductory paragraph, body paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, your argumentative essay must be written in MLA format and have the following: Claim located at the end of the introductory paragraph. Use of at least two types of support. A counterargument (placed appears before concluding paragraph). Correct parenthetical citations and Works Cited page. Note: You cannot have a works cited if you have not ‘cited’ anything in your paper. Please do not put URLs in parentheses. Nor should your works cited be a list of URLs. You are welcome to use a citation generator (See MLA Format) to help you create your works cited page. Consider working with a topic with which you are interested. Essays are writing assignments that help you develop ideas and synthesize primary and secondary sources within focused academic arguments that have been created based on one or more ideas from the chapters. Essays are to be three full pages in length and written in third person perspective. At least two MLA parenthetical citations/in-text citations, as well as a Works Cited page are required. The page count does not include the works cited page.
