Case Study: How do you get anything done around here

For this assignment, you are required to analyze the attached case “How do you get anything done around here.” The format for this assignment is essentially the same as for Case Analysis 1. The only difference is that you will be using conceptual tools from modules 6-9, or course content covering socialization to work, group dynamics, stress and communication at work, and diversity in the workplace.

As always, begin your paper with brief introduction describing the purpose of the paper. Follow that with a short summary of the case, no longer than ¾ of a page. For the analysis portion of the paper, you are to identify and analyze 7 problems in the case, and you must cover all 4 modules in your analysis, with no more than 2 problems from any module.

Label each problem under a separate subject heading before you proceed with your analysis, like this:

Problem 1: Socialization

Problem 2: Socialization

Problem 3: Stress and Social Support

And so on….

For each problem that you analyze indicate what is taking place in the case that a concept or concept cluster (group of related concepts) can help us understand or resolve. Back up your claim about the problem/issue in question with support from text/lecture. Essentially you are to do here exactly what you were called asked to do in Case Analysis 1.

After you have completed your analysis, offer a conclusion where you indicate what the paper was about and what you learned from using multiple perspectives to understand problems in an organization.

Note that I will be grading you on mechanics again, though this time expectations will be higher for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, references, page numbers, formatting and references.

Like Case Analysis 1, this is an individual assignment, not a collaborative, group project.

This assignment is graded out of 100 points and is worth 25% of your final grade. Here is a complete point breakdown:

Introduction = 5 points
Conclusion = 5 points
Case Summary = 10 points
Case Problems (7) = 70 points (35 for problem clarity, 35 for correct theoretical support).
Mechanics = 10
