Case Study Analysis

Read Kemco Manufacturing on Pages 193-195 from Project Management Case Studies Fifth Edition (attached).

The written portion of the case analysis should be four to five pages in length, with at least two (not more than four) analysis tools listed in the appendix. In addition, the case analysis must include a minimum of two external references (not including textbook). This assignment is to be written in accordance with APA formatting (attached) guidelines (this includes in-text citations). The final submission should be free from spelling and grammatical errors.

Required Format:

The written analysis should have the following sections:

Title page
Table of contents
Executive summary
Problem statement- One to two sentences identifying problem.
Problem and Data analysis
Alternatives
Key decision criteria
Alternatives analysis and evaluation
Recommendation
Action and implementation plan
Appendices (if any)

Sections 3-11 should be level one headings in the paper.

Additional tips:

In referring to the above sections, make sure that the case analysis includes the following:

For Section 3: Include a brief statement of the major, relevant factors in the case. (Do NOT just re-tell the story; assume the reader has already read the case!)

For Section 4: Identify the problem in one to two sentences.

For Section 6: Include a list of alternative courses of action and some analysis on the alternatives listed (it would be helpful to include some elements of relevant course material).

Section 8: Include a prioritization of the alternatives, based on the analysis.

Section 10: The suggested implementation plan should include a discussion of expected obstacles toward implementation of the highest-priority alternative, and a contingency plan if the highest-priority alternative cannot be met.

Be sure to refer to the information provided by the case analysis tools shown in the appendix in the main body of the case analysis. The idea is to use that information to support the chosen strategic alternative.
