• Instead of writing “Teachers will … ” use “I will …”

• What motivates students to learn and improve? How do you plan to motivate and teach your students to learn and improve?
• What are your beliefs about classroom management, instructional strategies, and curriculum?
• What are your beliefs about how and what children learn?
o What philosophical orientation or combinations of these (pages 118-127) best describes your beliefs? Provide specific examples.
o What psychological orientation or combinations of these (pages 128-131) is influencing your teaching philosophy? Provide specific examples.

4. Assessment:
• How will I assess and evaluate students’ learning to ensure the students have met my learning objectives?
• How will I use student evaluations to assess my teaching effectiveness and to improve my teaching skills?

5. Environment and Professionalism:
• What is it about my classroom environment that will encourage learning among diverse learners?
• How will I maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues?
• How will I, as an educator, exhibit and promote life-long learning?
