As outlined, the press release needs to be about something newsworthy to the media.
For this assignment, you will be writing a press release that will go to journalists and editors that cover the fashion industry.
You can create your newsworthy event based on one of the following:
Research fabric made from seaweed or other sustainable material and “create” news that a particular designer or manufacturer is developing a line made from this material.
Create a new vegan fashion or accessories brand, and announce it to the press. Consider the types of fabrics they will use, including substitutes for leather.
Create a new apparel brand that “gives back” via the societal marketing model. Think Toms Shoes, as an example. and announce it to the press.
Announce a store opening in your area, including how it will add value to the community.
Create a new sustainable apparel brand that is using only up-cycled materials for their merchandise.
Make sure to follow all the rules regarding writing a professional press release.
